Menorca in Brief
Less than two and a half hours flight from the UK, Menorca is the most northern of the Balearic Islands and the least commercialised. Although only half the size of nearby Majorca, Menorca more than compensates with its stunning beaches, breathtaking landscapes and peaceful towns and villages.

Beaches
With 200km of coastline and around thirty main beach resorts plus dozens of smaller, unspoilt coves and bays dotting the coastline you're sure to find the perfect spot. Menorca is famous for its beaches with over 120 ranging from tiny coves to some with over 2km of golden sand. Amongst Menorca's most beautiful beaches are Son Bou, Punta Prima, Binibeca, Arenal, Son Parc, Cala'n Forcat, Cala'n Bosch, Cala Galdana and Santo Tomas.

Many people who enjoy villa holidays in Menorca base themselves in one of the popular beach resorts, but as the roads are rarely busy it's easy to get around by car and explore the rest of the island.

Countryside
Away from the coastal resorts, Menorca is the greenest of the Balearics. The north of the island, known as the 'Tramontana', is mostly wild and mountainous whilst the south (or 'Migjorn') is rich with red soil that forms a plateau ending in spectacular coastal cliffs.

Towns
The island's capital, Mahon, combines Spanish and English influences in its beautiful architecture. With narrow streets to explore, shady squares and bustling markets, a visit to Mahon is a must for every visitor to Menorca. To the west of the island lies Ciutadela with its shops and markets.
